Asher John’s Remarkable Journey to AIR Rank 1386 in JEE Advanced

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 14: Asher John, a bright young talent from Bengaluru, has made a significant mark by securing an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 1386 in the JEE Advanced examination. Born to Somya John, CVP HR at Blue Yonder, and Calvin John, VP Marketing at Glance, Asher’s journey is a captivating story of curiosity, dedication, and academic brilliance.

From a young age, Asher’s inquisitive nature often led him into adventures and, occasionally, a bit of trouble. His constant quest to understand how things work and his love for reading fuelled his passion for learning. Throughout his early years at Gear Innovative International School, Asher consistently ranked at the top 1% of his grade, earning numerous accolades both at school and outside.

Indian National Chemistry Olympiad (INChO):

  • 2023: Placed among the national top 1%.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan:

  • 2018: First Rank in State Level Camp (Level II); represented Karnataka in the National Camp.

Infosys Catch Them Young (CTY):

HELIODYSSEY 2019 by Space India:

  • Achieved an All India Rank of 78 (91.4 percentile) in the Space HelioOdyssey Test (SHOT).
  • Selected as part of the official SPACE team of astronomers and scientists to conduct experiments during the 26th December 2019 Solar Eclipse (The Great Ring of Fire – India 2019).

ASSET Achievements:

  • 2017-2018: Certificate of Outstanding Performance.
  • 2018: Multiple Certificates of Outstanding Performance, including in Science, and the Asset Scholar Certificate – Gold Scholar Certificate.
  • 2019: Continued excellence with multiple Certificates of Outstanding Performance and the Asset Scholar Certificate – Gold Scholar Certificate, as well as a Certificate of Academic Excellence in Astrophysics & Astronomy from the Asset Summer Program at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT).

Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF):

  • 2016: SOF IEO – International Rank 6.
  • 2018: SOF IMO – International Rank 4271.

“Along from my school, coaching, and my regular self-studies, I put in between 12 to 14 hours daily, preparing for JEE” says Asher John. His JEE scores have seen tremendous progress between his Jee Mains AIR of 9700 to 1386 in Jee Advanced AIR. He didn’t allow his Jee Mains rank to perturb him and kept at it for his Jee Advanced exam.

Asher’s deep interest in Physics was evident from a young age, and by the 8th grade, he was certain he wanted to delve deeper into the subject. His dream is to explore Engineering Physics at one of the top IITs, and his achievement in JEE Advanced brings him a step closer to this goal.
